Randy Villegas, the Democratic challenger to Republican Rep. David Valadao in California’s 22nd District, openly embraces socialism.
Villegas Teams With Socialist Candidate
His newly listed Lawrence Villegas Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee with Michigan congressional candidate William Lawrence, cements the alliance.
Lawrence openly identifies as a socialist, founded a local DSA chapter, and says he will “win full socialism in the United States” and “redistribute all the land and all the money,” according to his podcast.
He has endorsed defunding police, called for abolishing ICE, and remains involved with groups that back candidates pushing the same agenda, positions Villegas proudly defends.
Villegas touts a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, stating “We need to make sure we have an immigration system that actually allows our neighbors… a path to residency, the path to citizenship,” in a recent tweet.
NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez warned that the partnership is “a collection plate for the same rotten ideology that punishes hard work, bleeds taxpayers dry, and sticks Central Valley voters with the bill for their socialist fantasies.”
RNC spokesman Nick Poche added that “these two far‑left lunatics are perfect together: they both hate America, want to defund the police, support open borders, and belong in an insane asylum.”
