Actress Anna Faris said she regularly challenges her 14‑year‑old son Jack on his pro‑life and conservative beliefs.
Faris Challenges Son on Faith and Politics
On the “Dear Chelsea” podcast, Faris told host Chelsea Handler that she questions Jack’s pro‑life stance, asking if it is a luxury. She said the conversation often stalls when Jack replies “Maybe.”
Faris noted that Jack identifies as religious, a faith she did not inherit, and she points to what she sees as religious hypocrisy.
She asked Jack about “mega pastors,” calling them grifters, and heard him agree they are the worst.
Faris praised Jack’s emotional stability, describing him as “solid as a tugboat” and saying he does not get easily jarred.
She added that she appreciates his examination of religion and his recognition of hypocrisy.
Faris revealed that Jack has asked her to become a Christian and accept Jesus as savior, and she said she would consider it after many long conversations.
Faris was married to Chris Pratt from 2009 to 2017 and shares Jack with him; Pratt has spoken openly about his Christian faith and how Jack’s premature birth strengthened his belief in God.
After their 2017 split, Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019 and they now have three children, while Faris wed cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2021.
Pratt has faced online criticism for alleged conservative views but remains largely apolitical.
