Activists injected themselves with cross‑sex hormones outside NYU Langone Hospital this week, directly confronting the institution’s new Department of Justice‑mandated ban on gender‑affirming care for minors.
The footage, posted to X by Freedom News TV, shows masked participants filling syringes and injecting themselves, including a person in a wheelchair, while a bullhorn‑wielding speaker reads a script demanding “demystify, normalize and celebrate” trans bodies.
Online commentator Matt Van Swol called the act “obviously a mental illness,” while author Wesley Yang labeled the movement “crazed” and accused it of normalizing fringe medical practices in suburban schools.
DOJ Forces NYU Langone and UPMC to End Minors’ Gender‑Affirming Treatments
The Department of Justice announced a settlement with NYU Langone and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center after investigating alleged illegal “sex‑rejecting procedures” performed on children.
Under the agreement, both hospitals will stop providing puberty blockers, cross‑sex hormones and related surgeries to minors, a DOJ release confirmed, though the hospitals deny any wrongdoing.
NYU Langone will pay $8.5 million and UPMC $950,000 as part of the settlement, which the DOJ says does not constitute an admission of liability.
Attorney General Todd Blanche stated in a DOJ release that the resolution “sends a clear message” that hospitals targeting children with these procedures and then billing for them will be held accountable.
