Trump Rally in Ohio Promises Economic Boom, Calls for Midterm Support

President Donald Trump arrived in Vandalia, Ohio, on Saturday night, urging voters to back Republican candidates in the November midterms as he touted a “golden age” driven by new investments. He framed the rally as a decisive moment for the party’s control of Congress.

Speaking at the Butler‑Vandalia Student Activity Center, Trump highlighted a $400 million Stellantis plant in Toledo and an $850 million Electra aerospace facility near Springfield. He added that a $2.2 billion Bayer pharmaceutical campus near Columbus would create thousands of jobs.

Trump linked the projects to his tariff agenda, saying the United States is finally leveling the playing field after years of foreign tariffs. He argued that domestic manufacturers now have a strong incentive to build at home.

He also backed Senator Jon Husted’s Ratepayer Protection Act, promising to sign it if Congress sends it to his desk. Trump reiterated his $5,000 dividend proposal for adult Americans if Republicans retain Congress.

Joined on stage by Senate candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, former NFL coach Jon Gruden and Husted, Trump urged the crowd to “pretend I’m on the ballot” and turn out for a Republican victory. He emphasized that the nation is “doing better now than ever before.”

Trump contrasted his administration’s record with that of President Joe Biden, citing stock‑market highs, manufacturing growth and record employment as evidence of his success. He said the current economic momentum would continue if voters keep Republicans in power.

He dedicated a reading of his poem “The Snake” to Springfield, Ohio, referencing the recent Haitian immigration debate. Trump claimed the U.S. had more than recouped the cost of its military action against Venezuela through its oil resources.

He pledged to consider Ohio for a future National Space Academy, citing the state’s aviation heritage and the Wright brothers. He urged voters to support Husted and Ramaswamy again in the upcoming election.
