Hayden Panettiere Mother Challenges Boyfriend’s Death Narrative
Hayden Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, says the boyfriend’s account of her daughter’s death doesn’t add up. She insists the story told by Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach is inconsistent with the facts.
Vogel told The Daily Mail she spoke with the officer who responded to the Greenville, South Carolina, Airbnb where Panettiere was found. She told him she believes Brian Hickerson was culpable.
She disputes the brothers’ timeline, which claims Hickerson administered Narcan and both performed CPR while on a 911 call. Vogel says that scenario is implausible.
“I do not believe he happened to have two bottles of Narcan on him,” Vogel said. She argues he must have left the scene to buy the drug, creating a timeline gap.
Vogel also questions Zach Hickerson’s claim that he returned from church to find Brian napping beside Panettiere. She asks how anyone can nap next to someone dying and not notice.
“How can you nap next to someone dying and not notice?” she asked. She believes he knew she was dead and called his brother to fabricate a story.
The South Carolina Department of Public Health notes that Narcan kits are free at health department clinics. They are also available without prescription at pharmacies nationwide.
Vogel previously faced backlash for remarks about her daughter’s death. She said the entertainment industry “is a struggle” and “it’s not unusual for young people to find the wrong path.”
She has blamed Hickerson from the start, asserting his toxic influence led to Panettiere’s death. She maintains his presence at the time of death was decisive.
“Although my daughter and I were estranged, it was not for lack of care or love,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “It was due to the involvement of a toxic individual who I believe led to her death,” she added.
