Ken Paxton: Estranged Wife Announces Texas Senate Choice

Texas State Sen. Angela Paxton, estranged wife of Ken Paxton, announced she will vote the full Republican ticket in November.

Ad blitz and campaign finance

In a 30‑second television spot released Saturday, Paxton framed the race as a choice between keeping Republican control or handing power to Democrats.

“I’m Texas Senator Angela Paxton. People asked for my thoughts, and I have some,” she said. “The election isn’t about individual players; it’s about getting the whole team across the finish line.”

The ad is funded by Texas PAC, a super PAC linked to Senate Leadership Fund, which has already spent a record $131 million in the Texas Senate race, according to Axios.

“Either we hold every Republican seat or we hand the future of Texas to the other team,” Paxton said. “That’s why I’m voting Republican on November 3. Let’s hold the line together.”

Personal background and political leverage

Paxton filed for divorce from Ken Paxton in July 2025 after 38 years of marriage, citing recent discoveries of adultery and saying she sought a biblical divorce.

She emphasized that marriage is a sacred covenant, but recent findings made staying in the marriage inconsistent with her values and those of her children.

Angela added that she moves forward “with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him.”

Her endorsement of the GOP ticket, without naming her husband, may give conservative women and moderate voters a reason to back Ken Paxton, who trails Democrat James Talarico in recent polls.

National support

Former President Donald Trump has intensified his push for Paxton, holding an economy‑focused rally in suburban Dallas this week and planning a San Antonio appearance next week.

Vice President JD Vance campaigned in South Texas on Friday, tying criticism of Talarico’s views on gender and religion to an economic message.

“This is a guy who supported men in women’s sports, who says God is non‑binary, who claims there are six genders,” Vance told Fox News. “He won’t stand up for your job or your values.”

Vance’s visit coincided with a groundbreaking ceremony for Saronic’s Port Alpha project, projected to create thousands of jobs.

The Cook Political Report rates the Senate contest as a toss‑up, underscoring its potential to decide control of the U.S. Senate.
