Indian National Indicted in California Pizza Shop Meth Bust
Federal prosecutors have indicted 50‑year‑old Kawal Preet Singh, an illegal immigrant, on drug and firearm charges after a massive methamphetamine seizure.
Agents found more than 40 pounds of meth, three firearms and over $10,000 in cash at Singh’s home, vehicle and the Round Table Pizza restaurant in Dinuba, California.
Singh pleaded not guilty during a Thursday arraignment and remains at large, according to The Fresno Bee.
Pizza Shop Used as Distribution Hub
Prosecutors allege Singh turned the Dinuba pizza outlet into a hub for large‑scale meth distribution, using the business to move kilogram‑level quantities of the drug.
The restaurant, listed as permanently closed on Google, employed a worker who had been on the job for roughly one and a half months, company officials said.
FAT Brands, the parent company, said the locally owned franchise had no prior knowledge of the illegal activity and is cooperating fully with law enforcement.
Investigation Traces Network of Truck Drivers
An FBI affidavit links Singh to a network of Sikh Indian truck drivers who transported narcotics from Mexico into California’s Central Valley, investigators say.
The probe began with a May tip about a suspected narcotics trafficker operating out of Fresno, later identified as “Camy,” a Sikh male involved in long‑haul trucking.
Evidence showed the network moved hundreds of kilograms of cocaine for a Mexican cartel, though Singh faces only meth and firearm counts.
Charges and Potential Sentence
Singh faces federal counts of methamphetamine distribution, possession with intent to distribute, and firearm use in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Conviction on the drug charge carries a minimum ten‑year prison term, while the firearm count adds at least five additional years.
Prosecutors stress that the allegations are not proven facts and that Singh is presumed innocent until conviction.
His next federal hearing is set for November 4.
